What this site is
Tropical Wave Weather takes the public data the National Hurricane Center and the National Weather Service publish and presents it in a way that is fast to read on a phone, on a bad connection, during the hours when it matters.
What we will not do
We do not sensationalise. We do not publish a track we cannot source. When models disagree we say so and show the spread in miles, rather than picking the dramatic one. When a data source is down, the page says the data is stale and when it was last good, instead of quietly showing an old number as current.
We are not a substitute for the National Hurricane Center. Every page that carries forecast information says so, and links to the official product.
Where the data comes from
Everything is sourced, and the data sources page lists each feed, what it covers, and how often it refreshes.
